Yes she is, SHe was Venice Plague Pit during the Black Death Imagine the horror she went through seeing.. Those people slowly dying.... (She was very happy that she has visitors that never left her island)

It's entirly possible that he is. Probably not as much with the plague in 1630 because he would have had it and would probably have been sent there so that he didn't make anyone worse. xD
